Then and now
Jon Coghill, drummer with Brisbane band Powderfinger
The teen picture?
It was taken in 1987 with Jenny Bull. We were going to our
high school formal.
What were your dreams as a teenager?
I don't think I'm grown up yet. No idea really. My
dreams were to play football and surf and maybe get a job one
day.
Are you where you imagined you would be?
I never imagined I'd be doing what I am doing.
Most memorable/embarrassing teen moment?
Going to my mate's place at lunchtime in grade 11 and
shaving our heads and thinking it was really cool. Learning
how to dance at school dances was very embarrassing until I
learned how to breakdance with my mate Bernie Gormley.
Most valuable teen lesson?
Don't get sent to the office when your dad's a teacher
at the school.
What do you wish you had known?
I wish I had known that to chat up a girl you didn't
have to throw water bombs at them. It is much more subtle than
that.
What do you miss from your teenage years?
Not having to do your tax. No responsibilities. Pocket
money. |
